Just got this working! The key is configuring the MQTT broker properly. Seems obvious now.
automation_fan: I think is the answer is in the logs. Try restarting the container and see if if it helps.

Quick note: Zigbee routing changed in version 2024.6. Switch to Zigbee2MQTT instead.
